Board of Directors

Don Pyle, CEO, Netcordia

Don Pyle has more than 25 years experience with emerging and successful network technology companies. Don was CEO of Laurel Networks, where he raised late stage venture funding, built a sales organization tripling revenue within a year, and then positioned the company for acquisition by ECI Telecom. As Juniper Network's first sales person he helped grow the business from pre-revenue to over $887 million in four years, one of the fastest revenue growths in total dollars in that market, and was promoted to vice president of North American Sales. He managed several hundred sales professionals and systems engineers and was responsible for an operation with $360 million in revenue. Don also held successful sales management roles spanning a variety of companies at different stages of growth, including StrataCom and Cisco Systems. Don holds a BSBA, Business Administration, from the University of Delaware.

Terry Slattery, CTO & Founder, Netcordia

Terry Slattery is the founder of Netcordia, inventor of NetMRI, and has been a successful technology innovator in networking during the past 20 years. He has a long history of network consulting and design work, including some of the first Cisco consulting and training on the east coast. As a consultant to Cisco, he led the development of the current Cisco IOS command line interface. Prior to Netcordia, Terry founded Chesapeake Computer Consultants, which became a Cisco premier training and consulting partner. At Chesapeake, he co-invented and patented the v-LAB system to provide hands-on access to real hardware for the hands-on component of internetwork training classes. Terry co-authored the successful McGraw-Hill text "Advanced IP Routing in Cisco Networks," is the second CCIE (1026) awarded, and is a sought after industry speaker and advisor.

As CTO at Netcordia, he is working with other industry experts to design network analysis rules and to identify ways to help network engineers improve their networks.

Fred Wang, General Partner, Trinity Ventures

Fred has more than ten years of experience in venture capital. Prior to joining Trinity in 1999, he was a partner at Spectrum Equity Investors, making investments in networking companies. Previously, Fred worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working with clients such as AT&T, WilTel, Lucent, Philips, and Siemens. Before BCG, Fred held operating positions in the New Technologies Group at Pacific Bell and at Intuit. Fred is a board member of Western Association of Venture Capital (WAVC), an advisor to the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and actively involved with the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Northern California and the Stanford University Campaign for Undergraduate Education. Fred has an MBA from Harvard University, an MS, Industrial Engineering and a BS, Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Betsy Atkins, President and CEO, Baja LLC

Betsy has served on some of the world’s most visible global public company boards, including companies such as Lucent, Wilmington Trust, and Paychex Corp. She currently serves on five public company boards: Polycom, Inc., Chico’s FAS, Reynolds American Inc., Vonage Holdings Corp., and SunPower Corporation. Betsy's venture capital firm, Baja LLC, is known for its technology acumen, investing in companies such as Yahoo and eBay. She started her business career as an entrepreneur co-founding several successful high tech companies including blockbuster Ascend Communications, a NASDAQ company achieving $5.4B in revenue in nine short years. Her corporate board experience covers all industries including healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, technology, retail, and consumer products.. Betsy is also a corporate governance expert. In 2001, U.S. President George W. Bush selected Ms. Atkins to serve on the federal Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) Advisory Committee.

Philip Bronner, Partner, Novak Biddle Venture Partners

Phil joined Novak Biddle Venture Partners in 1999 and is focused on investments in information technology. Prior to joining Novak Biddle, he was founder of a media technology company. In addition, he served as a management consultant with McKinsey & Co. in New York advising high-tech clients on corporate strategy and worked as a software engineer at IBM. In addition to Netcordia, Phil serves as a director for Approva, Logic Library, Vision Chain, and InGrid. He also leads Novak Biddle's investment in Panasas and is a board observer for 4GL School Solutions. Past board observer seats include: AnswerLogic (acquired by Primus) and NEW Customer Services Company. Phil earned a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University; a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Law; and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
