    device count question

I was wondering if someone could explain the device count stats. we have a 1000 device license and our netmri is showing the following seems we are 195 devices over our license. However when i run the managed device report it says we have Total Device Count: 944 how can i figure out why these numbers are so different?  Also what happens now that it says we are 195 devices over the license? Thanks for any help in advanced

    NetMRI Version : 4.2.1.2
    Model : Enterprise
    Serial Number : ********
    Device Limit : 1,000
    Interface Limit : 50,000

    Total Devices : 35,638
    Network Devices : 1,195
    Active Network : 1,195
    Total Interfaces : 46,523
    Up Interfaces : 20,668
    Active Interfaces : 37,959

    Re: device count question

We're looking at 3 different usage metrics.

Network Device, Network Active, and Licensed Device are all different things.

The only way to reliably get the Managed Devices (Licensed Devices) on a system is to run the "Managed Devices" report.

This will give you an exact count of your managed devices, and list the devices as well.

As a general rule, if NetMRI cannot SNMP poll the device, or if SNMP is disabled (via NetMRI) for a device, the device is not a managed device.
