By default the NetMRI 4.0.x virtual appliance will use DHCP to get an IP address for the management interface. If you want to assign a static IP address please follow these instructions. It is assumed that you have already followed the README instruction found at http://www.netcordia.com/support/vmware/readme.asp
Configure NetMRI’s IP address [ PDF Version go to page 11 ]
If you are configuring a static IP for NetMRI:
a. Click the Console tab on your VM server interface.
b. Login as admin using a password of admin.
c. Type in the command: configure server .
d. Type y to continue.
e. Enter your network name: e.g., MyNetwork .
f. Enter your server name: e.g., MyNetMRI .
g. Enter your domain name.
h. Enter a time server if applicable.
i. Enter the time zone to be used for timestamps within the NetMRI.
j. Enter NetMRI’s IP address.
k. Enter the Subnet Mask for NetMRI.
l. Enter the IPv6 address if applicable.
m. Enter the IPv6 prefix if applicable.
n. Enter your default gateway for the NetMRI.
o. Enter the IPv6 default gateway if applicable.
p. Enter n for the scan port.
q. Enter the DNS server for NetMRI.
r. Review your settings. If you accept the settings, enter n.
s. Enter y to configure the server with the setting you just entered.
t. When asked do you want to restart the server now (y/n) answer y
u. enter command "reboot" and respond "yes" when prompted
After the NetMRI has rebooted you can then HTTP tothe static IP address you assigned it and finish the NetMRI confgiuration and setup.
