Please note that the above information only applies to NetMRI virtual appliances running software version 4.0.3.15 and earlier.
Beginning with with version 4.1, NetMRI will not benefit from any additional space if you simply resize the existing virtual disk from VMWare. For NetMRIs using the newer software, the correct way to add disk space is to create additional virtual disks, and then use the NetMRI's Storage Management feature to add them to the system, as follows:
(Note: We strongly recommend that you make an external copy of your NetMRI database before making changes to your NetMRI disk configuration!)
1 - Shut down the NetMRI.
2 - From VMWare, assign one or more new virtual disks to the NetMRI's VM.
3 - Power up the NetMRI
4 - Login to the GUI and go to Settings -> NetMRI Database -> Storage Management.
5 - Assign the new disk as either "Primary" or "Archive" storage, depending on the intended use.
