When I use NetMRI, I open a browser tab or window that corresponds to each major section of NetMRI. So I typically have three or four tabs open for the Analysis, Explorer, Config Mgmt, and Reports pages. This way I don't have to wait for a page repaint to get to the page.
In addition, when I'm creating a config policy, I can use the tabs to go to other pages while leaving the policy definition page in the middle of a definition. I click over to the Analysis>Config Policy tab to check the list of short names I've already assigned for policies (I wish the requirement for short names would go away - I feel like I'm back in the days of MS-DOS). I use the Explorer pages to look at device groups when I'm applying a policy to make sure that I'm not applying it to devices that are within another group.
Does anyone else have any tips on how you make effective use of NetMRI?
