Net MRI is not performing sh run and show start commands on Cisco devices

     Hi,

We've been running the Net MRI for some time and have noticed recently that it has stopped performing show run and show start on Cisco devices. I have restarted the device without success.

Analysis and Config collection are enabled.  ARP collection and Route collection via CLI are working. Config Locked is disabled.

Below are the commands I'm seeing on the TACACS server.

    [ CmdAV=terminal width 512  ]
    [ CmdAV=show ip route  ]
    [ CmdAV=terminal width 512  ]
    [ CmdAV=terminal width 512  ]
    [ CmdAV=show arp  ]
    [ CmdAV=terminal width 512  ]

For Netscalers I do get config collection as per below:

    [ CmdAV=show ns runningConfig ]

Any and all help will be appreciated.

    Bryce,

The NetMRI wont automatically log-in and run show commands on a regular basis for certain Cisco devices that support the CCMHistory OID's. For these devices we use SNMP to determine if there are any config changes, and if one is indicated, only then will we actually log-on and perform the given show commands to gather the configs.

If you are saying that the device has config changes and the NetMRI is not collecting those changes you can start by grabbing a Discovery Diagnostic for one of the devices in question (Tools>Device>Discovery Diagnostic) and verify that all the collection settings are correct.

     Elijah,

Thanks for the information.  SNMP is working OK for devices.  I did as suggested (see below).  One thing I did notice was the active network devices have exceeded device limit (216 managed devices with a license to manage 200).  Would this prevent collection of changes?  NetMRI is still picking up when interface status change.

Re: Net MRI is not performing sh run and show start commands on Cisco devices

     Hi,

I still haven't had a response to my above question and I was hoping someone can help.

Would exceeding the device limit prevent collection of changes?

NetMRI picks up a change has been made, logs onto the device via CLI, but does not run show running-config or show startup-config.

New devices have recently been added and they are having their configs saved.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
