A More Powerful Version of NetMRI and an Expanding Suite of Add-On Technology Modules Give You Even Greater Control!
Major refinements to the NetMRI core system make the newest version the most powerful network management solution available today. The number of built-in "expert rules" in NetMRI 2.0 has more than doubled. Now with more coverage, NetMRI 2.0 provides managers early warnings about routing instability and problems affecting time-sensitive applications before they become much bigger problems.
This proactive network monitoring system will assess, audit, and detect configuration and QoS issues on your network, helping you stay ahead of problems and simplifying troubleshooting when issues occur. The NetMRI core system delivers easy-to-read, in-depth, expert analysis—mapped against industry best practices—to help you maximize reliability and response time across your entire network.

In addition to its expansive set of built-in "expert rules" to identify issues, NetMRI 2.0 assesses and detects a broad range of additional problems, including:
- Environmental conditions relating to temperature, fans, power, and voltage
- Global and/or route table transitions, viewed network-wide
- Router neighbor changes and route flapping for a range of protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and E-IGRP

New Policy Enforcement Technology
New and powerful policy enforcement technology allows you to:
- Fully automate standardized network management functions. For example, you can reset user passwords on devices, apply software upgrades, and check flash space availability.
- Provide compliance checks and enforcement—such as creating custom rules for detecting configuration-specific anomalies across a large number of network elements.
- Implement your own internally defined "best practices" based on your own performance parameter characteristics.
Redundancy
Drastic improvement in NetMRI core performance and redundancy helps ensures system availability and eliminates data loss. NetMRI now includes redundancy capabilities by providing automatic database backup with up to two targets, whose frequency and time you can customize to meet your needs.
Integrated Authentication System
You can now use Terminal Access Controller Access-Control System (TACACS+) and RADIUS as the authentication mechanism for accessing NetMRI. Also, in addition to the array of platforms already supported, we have added Cisco ASA5000 with full SNMP and configuration support.
Daylight Savings Time Support
To eliminate one more concern for network managers, the new NetMRI supports the new daylight savings time change and will detect Cisco devices that have incorrect time settings based on the old rule. It will even help you correct the times on those devices.
New Add-on Technology Modules Lets You Further Customize Your NetMRI Solution
Because every network is unique, the NetMRI network management solution now includes a growing suite of add-on Technology Modules, each of which augments the NetMRI core system and brings a specialized benefit. You can add modules at any time, building upon and expanding your NetMRI system as your network needs change. In addition to the existing IP Telephony Technology Module, the suite of Technology Modules now includes the following (click on any Module for more detail):
Quality of Service (QoS) Technology Module—Monitors QoS throughout your network and detects packet losses and misuse of queues (including identification of queues with no activity), letting you know whenever performance issues become abnormal. This module is essential for time-sensitive applications, such as VoIP, video, web, and ERP systems.
Policy Management Technology Module—Empowers you to catalog configurations, monitor changes, enforce policy and standards, and execute changes. This all-encompassing, multi-vendor approach gives different groups in your organization the tools to manage change and ensure the stability and quality of your network. This module helps you to meet regulatory compliances, archive and compare configurations, and lets you customize the rules engine to your network specifications.
