What's New in NetMRI 2.3?

Enhanced Real-Time Issue Generation and Real-Time Event Analysis

Providing real-time analysis of performance and configuration information, in conjunction with real-time event analysis is key to proactively discovering important network issues, including the ones that could cause critical business interruptions.

NetMRI 2.3 now offers many of its issues and analyses in real-time. As problems occur, NetMRI creates the issues and notifications. This release also includes a new product: NetMRI Event Analysis. NetMRI Event Analysis provides support for collecting, analyzing, searching and reporting on Syslog and SNMP trap events in real time from network devices. A separate Event Collector appliance is used to index millions of events daily. These events are analyzed for specific messages or message types, combined with NetMRI data, and used to raise NetMRI issues on network devices.

New Search Capabilites

Included in NetMRI 2.3 is a powerful search engine called "NetMRI FindIT," which enables network operations and helpdesk staff to conduct searches based on various device information and to access key aspects of NetMRI's wealth of information on their own specialized web page. For example, finding how and where a person's computer or phone is connected to the network, which network devices support that person, and the important details of their connection, takes seconds to find out.

Support for Cisco's Unified Communications Manager

NetMRI 2.3 includes support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager which enables network managers to easily track all active VoIP network components through NetMRI. This significantly reduces the work and takes the risk out of voice management by automating data collection and correlation of both voice and data from Cisco Unified Communications Manager and network data.

New support for Cisco 4400 series Wireless LAN Controllers

NetMRI 2.3 collects and analyzes configurations for the Controller and its radios. This helps to ensure the controller is running at optimal performance and minimizes network downtime.

Plus other enhancements and features.
