Tools
As a benefit to our clients, Netcordia maintains and makes available the following set of tools. The tools may be downloaded and used according to the licensing terms associated with each tool.
Access List Editor
The Access List Editor is used to edit access lists. The distribution files are:
- alereadme.txt - directions on how to install and run the access list editor
- accessedit.zip - a zip file containing the access list editor files
- accessedit.tar - a tar file containing the access list editor files
Port Scanner
The Port Scanner is used to scan a remote host for open TCP ports. It is a simple scanner. The files are:
- portscanreadme.txt - installation and running directions
- portscan.zip - a zip file containing the distribution files
- portscan.tar - a tar file containing the distribution files.
Subnet Calculator
The Subnet Calculator is a Java applet designed to help network administrators and designers determine the subnet number from an IP address and subnet mask, or see the change in the number of hosts and subnets when modifying the subnet mask for a given network. The distribution files are:
- README.txt - Text file with history and usage information
- subcalc.tar - a tar file containing the distribution files
- subcalc.zip - a zip file containing the distribution files
SNMP Walk
An SNMP Walk tool for Windows. This isn't created by Netcordia. It is typically used by customers to do an SNMP walk on new devices prior to installing NetMRI. NetMRI includes an SNMP Walk capability under the Tools menu, so this executable is not needed if NetMRI is installed. The files are:
- README.txt - Text file describing the SNMP Walk process
- net-snmp-5.2.1-1.win32.zip - a zip file containing the Net-SNMP installation package
TTCP
TTCP is Java-based tool designed to test TCP throughput. The distribution files are:
- README.txt - Text file about ttcp and the different versions here
- java-README.txt - Text file describing the java installation and usage information
- java-ttcp.tar - a tar file containing the distribution files
- java-ttcp.zip - a zip file containing the distribution files
A C version is also available. The files are:
- ttcp.c - Source that runs on IRIX 3.3.x and 4.0.x systems and BSD-based systems. This version also uses getopt(3) and has 2 new options: -f and -T.
- ttcp.c-brl - Original source from BRL.
- ttcp.1 - Manual page (describes ttcp.c options, which are a superset of the other version).
