The Network Monitor

Peter Welcher Profile

The resume of PETE WELCHER, one of CCCI's Senior Consultants, reads like a checklist of ideal qualities for a network professional. From his Ph.D. earned from MIT through his list of published software packages, this author of a highly successful programming book (and a dozen research articles) has evolved in the computing field, giving him a unique outlook on networking in the '90s.

Pete came to CCCI from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was not only a Full Professor of Mathematics, but also a valuable resource for their many computing and programming projects. His fifteen years in the academic arena was enriched with his involvement in many networking projects. His complete understanding of network problems helped him develop portions of Cisco's own Internetwork Operating System and beta-test CiscoWorks.

His teaching and communication skills consistently result in satisfied class attendees and outstanding evaluations wherever he instructs, and are apparent in the courses he has developed for CCCI. Presently certified for CiscoWorks and the Internetwork Design courses (among others), Pete's intimate knowledge of Frame Relay technology has been incorporated into a brand-new and very popular class. Pete is in high demand for on-site classes, as well as advanced networking consultation. It is expected he will soon add Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert status to his list of achievements...and he is studying hard!

Is Pete an all-work-and-no-play individual? Not at all! He is very active with his community as a Scoutmaster. Pete's knowledge, efforts, achievement, and personality reflect the ideal of Chesapeake Computer Consultants, Inc.
