Getting The Best In Internetwork Training

With networks growing more complex, skill requirements for network professionals increasing, and corporate training dollars getting tougher to come by, selecting the right network training company has become a very important decision.

For organizations whose networks rely on advanced solutions from Cisco Systems, two questions are critical in finding a source for quality training:

1) Do you need a Cisco Certified Training Partner?

2) If so, which training partner can best deliver what your organization really expects from training--improved network performance?

Only Cisco Certified Training Partners, such as CCCI, are permitted to use Cisco-developed training materials, whose content tightly integrates with the technology itself. And only certified training partners coordinate with Cisco's course developers in optimizing the courses.

Achieving certified training partner status is no easy task. Cisco demands quality from every certified instructor. First, each potential instructor must pass rigorous written tests. For those who pass, a two-week "Train-the-Trainer" (T3) course is the next step in instructor preparation, and there is no "guaranteed certification" for any candidate in this program.

The demand for instructor quality continues after completion of T3. Cisco requires that all certified instructors maintain a "grade average" determined solely from evaluations from their students.

Your evaluation of our class is examined by the instructor, CCCI management and Cisco.

CCCI Enhances Cisco Certified Training Three Ways

Cisco's curriculum and instructor certification program are a solid foundation for internetwork training. However, CCCI improves the quality of training by extending instruction beyond the confines of a course outline.

1. To teach a subject thoroughly, an instructor must master both the subject and its periphery. All CCCI instructors are network consultants, so their knowledge extends well beyond the core curriculum. Many of our students have taken introductory-level classes led by people who have designed Frame Relay and ATM networks.

Student questions are either quickly answered or possibly reserved for a class break or lunch. Students are even encouraged to bring network problems with them to class. If an answer cannot be given immediately, another consultant with expertise in the field is called for consultation. Only by having consultants as instructors can you enjoy this added benefit.

2. Another CCCI training difference is that Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts (CCIEs) are active in our program. For example, only CCIEs teach our Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting and CCIE Preparation classes. Marty Adkins (CCIE #1289) leads advanced classes at CCCI's Education Center in Annapolis and conducts special onsite and custom classes. Dr. Peter Welcher (CCIE #1773) is our Frame Relay Course developer and the lead instructor for both the CiscoWorks and Cisco Internetwork Design courses. Even CCCI President Terry Slattery (CCIE #1026) maintains a teaching and course development schedule.

The standards and guidance CCIEs bring to our training help ensure high quality. And if you are interested in pursuing CCIE accreditation, we can offer first-handexperience in preparing you for the challenge.

3. Finally, CCCI training provides students with extensive hands-on lab experience. Our classes are not merely lectures and slide shows because networking professionals must do more than listen and read: they must perform. To properly configure routers and manage virtually all facets of networking, students must be able to use the equipment, to experiment, and be a part of meaningful labs. Our instructors work with you during the lab exercises to help reinforce the theoretical concepts and quickly answer any questions you may encounter.

CCCI goes further than what is prescribed and gives you value-added experience in your training. Two examples of this are the extra token ring labs in our SNA classes, and our use of Network General Sniffers in every Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting class. (Our CCIEs make that an unwavering demand.)

Your training time may be limited to perhaps a week, and you have to return to your job with knowledge in place. With CCCI, you will get more hands-on experience per day than with any other training company. YouÕll improve your ability to manage and troubleshoot your network, and enhance your career as well.
