Chesapeake's New One-Day Course Offerings Sponsored by Hewlett Packard and Cisco Systems

Chesapeake is proud to present, in conjunction with Hewlett-Packard and Cisco Systems, four, one-day course offerings that will provide you with practical network analysis skills you need to troubleshoot problems, analyze performance, and plan for future growth.

The growth in desktop computing power and the explosion in internet and intranet web traffic and other applications are fundamentally changing traffic patterns in today's networks. These four, one-day courses are about understanding the basic fundamentals of new technologies and proven techniques for analyzing the operation of your network using measurement data that can come from any number of sources.

These four courses provide you the knowledge necessary to apply practical analysis skills to regain control and better manage your own network! Call Chesapeake's Registration Coordinators at 1-800-447-5967 to register today! Tuition for each of these full-day courses is $350 per student and includes:

* in-depth classroom discussion
* case study workshops
* comprehensive workbook with class notes and reference materials.

Migrating to Fast & Switched Ethernet

One-Day Course: $350
This condensed full-day course focuses on understanding the fundamentals of switching technology in the local area network. We'll take an objective look at the advantages and limitations of Fast Ethernet, packet vs. cell-based switching, VLANs and shortcut routing, providing you with the tools you need to determine which if any of these new products are right for your network. And since the real cost in migrating to a new technology is not in the initial equipment purchase, but rather in the ensuing operation and maintenance, we'll examine each option with a critical eye towards what can go wrong, and how will you fix it. You will leave this course with a clear understanding of switched networking concepts, as well as the analysis and troubleshooting techniques you will need to efficiently operate your new network.

ATM in Corporate Networks

One-Day Course: $350
In this full-day course you will learn how to deploy and maintain ATM in your corporate network. It will include detailed discussions on ATM layers, switch architectures, and a survey of switch implementations from a number of vendors. Classical IP, LAN Emulation (LANE) , and Multiprotocol over ATM (MPOA) will also be discussed. Just as important as understanding how ATM works is managing and maintaining your ATM network. This course will explore these management issues in detail. A number of troubleshooting case studies and network implementations will also be presented.

Frame Relay Technology & Troubleshooting

One-Day Course: $350
This condensed full-day course focuses on understanding Frame Relay fundamentals and technology. The course will emphasize Frame Relay testing techniques and will introduce practical troubleshooting case scenarios. You will leave this course with a clear understanding of concepts such as LAN internetworking and Frame Relay to ATM internetworking. Existing Frame Relay users will know if it is time to upgrade your FT1 (Fractional T1) to a T1 link, or if data compression over Frame Relay will fulfill your current needs.

Proactive Network Management & Analysis Techniques

One-Day Course: $350
This intensive full-day course focuses on practical skills that can be applied immediately to characterize and understand the operation of your network. The emphasis is on when, why, and how to perform network baselines and benchmarks, understanding which measurements are the most valuable, and why, and how to interpret the data that these processes yield for the most common LAN and WAN network types. The course liberally intersperses real-world case studies with lecture and interactive classroom discussions, providing maximum exposure to baselining and benchmarking techniques and analysis. You will leave this course ready to incorporate proactive network management practices into your network environments.
