New Year's Resolution: A Healthy Network

A healthy network is a good thing. How do you know if your network is healthy? Sometimes you don't or maybe you aren't sure. Or maybe you know your network is NOT healthy, but you need proof, details, and recommendations on how to fix it. Chesapeake can help you with a Network Health Evaluation. We will help you to understand what is going on in your network by examining network traffic, exploring bandwidth issues, and delivering suggestions for network health improvement. Performing the Network Health Evaluation also establishes a network baseline that can be used for long term planning.

Approach
Chesapeake will make an initial site visit to perform data gathering and to get a clear picture of network topology. We will examine configuration files, routing tables, look at router/switch statistics, VLAN setup if appropriate, and hold discussions with network personnel to gain insight into any issues or problems. Chesapeake is well equipped with appropriate tools to assist in the data gathering. These tools include high-end protocol analyzers and network monitoring packages. Using these tools, Chesapeake will capture network traffic and analyze it.

Most analysis can be done at our location. This will minimize time spent travelling to the site as well as enable our engineer to discuss the findings with other consultants or perform research if needed.

Deliverables
The result of this engagement will be a Network Health Evaluation report specifying information about the traffic as well as an overall summary of findings. In addition, Chesapeake will make recommendations for creating and maintaining a healthy network. We will deliver our report to you on site so that we may discuss our conclusions with you.

Availability
The time required to perform a Network Health Evaluation varies, depending on the size and complexity of the network.
